The Opportunity

We are seeking for experienced individual who can drive continual improvement of Health & Safety processes and ensure that Whirlpool complies with all applicable EHS regulations. This position will be physically located at Operation Excellence Department in Cassinetta (Varese). The Cassinetta location has around 2000 professionals dedicated to built-in products, microwaves and ovens.

Your tasks in this role will include

  • Implement and maintain a strong EHS culture in all company locations;
  • Support the implementation of all aspects of the health and safety programs in EMEA region, including ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and ISO 50001;
  • Ensure compliance with existing corporate standards, industry best practices and audit processes and to ensure continuous improvement of EHS performance;
  • Coach and teach plant Pillar leaders and teams on the WCM methodology and standards related to the implementation of the Health & Environment Pillars at assigned manufacturing facilities;
  • Provide guidance on how to implement projects using the systematic approach on the shop-floor;
  • Conduct workshops to teach methods and tools and to manage best practice sharing and development as well as manage standard documentation for the Health & Environment Pillars;
  • Work on global pillar projects and create standards for the Pillar as well as participate in Pillar meetings, workshops and the creation of learning material for advance steps and company courses.

Background and Experiences

  • University degree in EHS/Energy Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering;
  • Relevant years of experience that includes a broad working knowledge in EHS aspects;
  • Solid knowledge of EHS regulations and laws;
  • Strong working experience in WCM Safety & Environment Pillars at plant level and central level, EHS Management systems (e.g. OHSAS 18001, ISO 14001, ISO 50001);
  • Solid work experience at manufacturing site, preferably in the automotive industry;
  • Experience with successful Change management;
  • Excellent teamwork skills;
  • Ability to communicate complex regulatory and technical issues in understandable terms;
  • Ability to travel up to 50 % in Europe;
  • Proficient in English.
